The Photo Collage Maker lets you combine several photos into a single image without installing any software or signing up for anything. Start by dropping 2 to 9 photos onto the upload area (or click it to browse your device). Each photo appears as a thumbnail in the left-hand list — use the ▲ and ▼ buttons to reorder them, or the × button to remove one you don't want. As soon as two or more photos are loaded, the tool automatically arranges them into a balanced grid and shows a live preview on the right.

From there, pick an output size that matches where you plan to use the collage, choose how much gap you want between photos (or none at all, for a seamless grid), and set a background/gap color. When you're happy with the layout, choose JPG or PNG and click Download — the file is generated at full resolution, not the smaller size shown in the preview, and saves directly to your device.

Every photo is automatically center-cropped to fill its grid cell so there's no stretching, squishing, or empty letterboxing — the collage always looks clean and intentional no matter what size or shape your original photos were.

Choosing the Right Output Size

The output size you pick should match where the collage is going:

• Square 1080×1080 — the standard size for a regular Instagram feed post, and a safe, versatile default for most other uses too.
• Portrait 1080×1350 — Instagram's tall "4:5" portrait post format, which takes up more vertical space in the feed than a square post.
• Story 1080×1920 — the full-screen vertical format used by Instagram and Facebook Stories, Reels, and TikTok.
• Landscape 1920×1080 — a wide format suited to blog headers, YouTube thumbnails, presentation slides, or any banner-style placement.
• Custom — set any width and height between 200 and 4000 pixels for a specific project, print size, or platform not listed above.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my photo uploaded anywhere?

No. This tool never sends your photos to a server. Everything happens locally in your browser using the HTML5 Canvas API — your files are read directly from your device, drawn onto the canvas, and the final image is generated and downloaded without ever leaving your computer or phone.

Why is part of my photo getting cropped out?

Each photo is center-cropped to completely fill its grid cell without distorting the image — this is what keeps every cell in the collage a clean, consistent shape instead of leaving empty gaps or stretched, squished photos. The trade-off is that if your grid cell has a different aspect ratio than your original photo, the edges farthest from the center get trimmed off. If an important subject is being cut off, use the image cropper to reposition or pre-crop that photo before uploading it here.

Can I use more than 9 images?

Not in this tool. It supports 2 to 9 photos so the resulting grid stays clean, balanced, and easy to read at a glance. Beyond 9 cells, each photo becomes too small to make an impact and the layout starts to feel visually cluttered rather than like a cohesive collage.

What image formats can I upload?

You can upload PNG, JPG/JPEG, WebP, GIF, and AVIF files — essentially any raster image format your browser can natively decode. The collage itself is downloaded as either a JPG (smaller file size, ideal for sharing) or a lossless PNG.

Can I add text to the collage?

Not directly within this tool — it's focused purely on arranging your photos into a grid. Once you've downloaded your collage, open it in the image watermark tool to add a text caption, title, or logo overlay on top.
