Classroom Birthday Chart Generator
Make a printable classroom birthday chart from a simple list of names and dates. Type or paste your students one per line in whatever format you already have, such as "Alex, 3/14", "Alex - March 14", or "Alex 14 Mar", and the chart sorts everyone by month and day for you. Choose twelve month boxes or a single chronological list, start the year in January or August, and give summer birthdays their own box. Then download a landscape PDF for your bulletin board. If you are already making name tags for the first week, the Desk Name Plate Generator uses the same kind of class list, and the Award Certificate Generator is handy for a special birthday-month certificate.
Students and Birthdays
Dates are read month first (3/14 is March 14). If the first number is bigger than 12 it is read as the day (14/3). Years are ignored. Any line that cannot be understood is listed below instead of being dropped.
Or add students one at a time

How to Use the Birthday Chart Generator
- Paste your class list into the box, one student per line, with the birthday after the name. Any common format works:
Alex, 3/14,Alex - March 14, orAlex 14 Mar. - Add anyone you missed with the name, month, and day rows, or press Load Sample Class to see how it works.
- Check the yellow message area. Every line the tool could not read is listed with its line number so you can fix it, and nothing is silently skipped.
- Pick a layout, the month your chart starts with, and a color theme. Turn on the summer option if you want June, July, and August combined.
- Review the live preview, then press Download PDF. The PDF is landscape letter size and ready to print or laminate.
Tips for a Classroom Birthday Chart
Start with the school year
A chart that begins in August or September lines up with the months you are actually in school, so the first birthdays you celebrate appear at the top. Summer birthdays then sit at the end.
Give summer birthdays a plan
Students born in June, July, or August often miss out on a classroom celebration. Grouping them in one box with a note like "Half-birthdays celebrated in May" makes it clear that they are included.
Print on cardstock or laminate
Mount the chart on the wall and laminate it so you can update names with a dry-erase marker when new students join in the middle of the year.
Check privacy preferences first
Some families prefer that birthdays not be displayed, and some schools have celebration policies. Check with your administration, and consider using first names only on anything posted publicly.
Pair it with small recognitions
A printed card or certificate from the Award Certificate Generator is an easy birthday-month surprise, and a matching label from the Desk Name Plate Generator keeps seating tidy for the celebration.
Single list for quick checks
Use the single-list layout when you want a compact reference near your desk or planner, and the month layout when the chart is a display for students.
Frequently Asked Questions
What date formats can I paste in?
You can use numbers like 3/14, 3-14, or 3.14, written dates like March 14 or Mar 14, and day-first dates like 14 March. A year is allowed but ignored. Separators such as commas, dashes, and tabs between the name and the date are all fine.
What happens to lines the tool cannot read?
They are not dropped. A message under the student box lists each problem line with its line number and the reason, such as a missing name, a missing date, or an impossible date like February 30, so you can correct it.
How do summer birthdays work?
Turn on the summer option and June, July, and August birthdays are combined into a single labeled box. You can add a note line, for example the date you celebrate half-birthdays, and it prints at the bottom of that box.
Can the chart start in August instead of January?
Yes. Choose August or September under "Chart Starts With" and the months are reordered to follow the school year. With the summer option on, the summer box goes at the end.
What if a month has a lot of birthdays?
The text in the PDF shrinks automatically so a longer list still fits in its box. For very large groups, the single-list layout gives you more room because it flows across several columns and pages.
Is my class list saved or uploaded anywhere?
No. The chart and the PDF are built entirely in your browser, and nothing you type is uploaded or stored. If you close the page, the list is gone, so keep your own copy.
