How to Use the Writing Prompt Generator

  1. Choose a genre (Adventure, Mystery, Fantasy, etc.) or leave it on Any Genre for a mixed set.
  2. Select a grade level to match prompts to your students' developmental stage.
  3. Set the number of prompts and click Generate Prompts.
  4. Click Copy on any prompt to copy it to your clipboard, or click Print to download a print-ready PDF of all the prompts.
  5. Click Regenerate to get a fresh random selection with the same settings.
