  3. Name the output — optionally change the output file name.

  5. Download — click the green button to save the merged file.

You can add more files at any stage before clicking Merge.

Common Uses for PDF Merging

  • Assembling reports — combine a cover page, body, and appendices into one document
  • Combining scanned pages — merge individual scanned page PDFs into a single document
  • Receipts and expense reports — combine multiple receipt PDFs into one submission
  • Multi-chapter documents — merge separately prepared chapters into a complete book or manual
  • Legal bundles — combine agreements, exhibits, and supporting documents for submission

Page Order and Document Structure

Pages appear in the merged PDF in the order you arrange the files in the list, with all pages of each file appearing consecutively. If file A has 3 pages and file B has 2 pages, the merged PDF will be:

  • Pages 1–3: all pages from file A (in their original order)
  • Pages 4–5: all pages from file B (in their original order)

To interleave pages from different files, use the PDF Page Extractor to split files into individual pages first.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a limit on how many files I can merge?
No hard limit. All processing happens in your browser's memory, so very large combined files (hundreds of MB) may be slow depending on your device.

Will hyperlinks and bookmarks be preserved?
Hyperlinks within the document are preserved. Top-level PDF bookmarks (outline entries) from the original files are not currently carried into the merged output.

Can I remove a specific page from a file before merging?
Not directly in this tool. Use the PDF Page Extractor to prepare a version of the file with those pages removed, then merge the cleaned version.

Does this work with password-protected PDFs?
PDFs with user-open passwords cannot be processed. PDFs with owner passwords only usually work fine.
