How to Resize JPG Images

  1. Upload images — click the upload area or drag and drop one or more JPG files.
  2. Choose resize mode — pick Pixels to set an exact output size, or Percentage to scale proportionally (e.g. 50% = half size).
  3. Enter dimensions — type the target width or height in pixels. With "Lock aspect ratio" on, the other dimension is calculated automatically.
  4. Set JPEG quality — drag the quality slider to balance file size against image quality (85% is a good default).
  5. Click Resize Images — resized previews appear below with individual download links, or download all as a ZIP.

Common Use Cases

  • Web and blog images — Reducing large photos to 1200–1920 px wide before uploading speeds up page loads significantly.
  • Email attachments — Most email clients struggle with multi-megabyte photos; scaling down to 1080 px keeps quality high while cutting file size.
  • Social media — Different platforms have specific recommended dimensions (e.g. 1200×630 for Open Graph, 1080×1080 for Instagram). This tool lets you hit those targets exactly.
  • Thumbnails — Generate small preview images quickly without needing image editing software.
  • Batch processing — Resize an entire folder of photos to consistent dimensions in one go.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will resizing reduce my file size?

Usually yes — a smaller canvas contains less data. You can further reduce the file size by lowering the JPEG quality slider. A quality of 75–85% typically produces files about 50–70% smaller than the original with no visible quality loss at normal viewing sizes.

Can I enlarge images with this tool?

Yes, you can enter dimensions larger than the original, but upscaling a JPEG will not add detail — it only stretches the existing pixels, which can make the image look blurry or blocky. For best results, only scale images down.

Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. All resizing is done by your browser using the HTML5 Canvas API. Your images never leave your device.
