Email & SMS QR Code Generator
Build a QR code that launches a pre-filled email, text message, or phone call the moment someone scans it — no app to install, no typing an address or number by hand. Switch between the Email, Text Message (SMS), and Phone Call modes below to build the right link for your flyer, poster, or business card. For a full digital business card instead of just one contact method, see the vCard QR Code Generator, or use the Social Media QR Code Generator to point people at a profile or app instead of a contact action.

How to Use the Email & SMS QR Code Generator
- Choose a mode from the dropdown: Email, Text Message (SMS), or Phone Call.
- For Email, enter the recipient's address, plus an optional subject and body — these will already be filled in when the sender's email app opens.
- For Text Message, enter the destination phone number and an optional pre-written message.
- For Phone Call, enter the phone number to dial. Include the country code (e.g. +1 for the US) for the most reliable results.
- Watch the QR code preview update automatically as you type.
- Pick a download size and click Download PNG for flyers and posters, or Download SVG for a crisp vector version to place in print layouts.
Use Cases
Add a scannable "Contact Us" code to flyers, product packaging, or feedback forms so people can reach you without typing out an email address.
Text Message
Let attendees RSVP to an event, join a restaurant waitlist, or confirm an appointment with a pre-filled text instead of a phone call.
Phone Call
Print a click-to-call code on repair and service business posters, or add one to a real estate yard sign so buyers can call about a listing instantly.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the recipient need a special app to scan this?
No. Scanning the code with a modern phone's built-in camera opens the phone's default Mail, Messages, or Phone app with the details already filled in — no extra app to install.
Does the SMS format work on both iPhone and Android?
Yes. The standard sms: link with a message body is supported by modern versions of both iOS and Android. A small number of very old iPhones used a slightly different message format, so if you're printing at scale it's worth scanning the code with your own device first to confirm it opens correctly.
Can I pre-fill a subject and message body?
Yes. Both the Email and Text Message modes let you add optional pre-written content, so whoever scans the code only needs to review and send.
Is my information sent anywhere?
No. The QR code is generated entirely in your browser — nothing you type is uploaded to a server or stored anywhere.
Will the QR code expire?
No. It's a static image encoding a plain link, so it will keep working for as long as the email address, phone number, or content stays valid.
What if I need to include a full contact card instead?
Use the vCard QR Code Generator instead — it saves a complete contact (name, phone, email, and more) to the scanner's address book in one scan.
