How to Use the Behavior Chart Generator
- Choose a chart type: Daily (one row per student, columns for each day), Weekly (rows for behaviors, columns for days), or Sticker Chart (a grid of numbered boxes students fill in as they earn rewards).
- Enter student names (one per line), number of days, day label style, and a custom chart title. For the Daily chart each name becomes a row; for Weekly and Sticker charts one chart per student is generated.
- For weekly charts, add the specific goal behaviors you want to track (one per line).
- Click Generate Chart, then Download PDF.
Behavior Chart Types
Daily Chart
One chart for multiple students. Each row is a student name; each column is a day. Teachers mark an X, checkmark, or score in each cell. Best for whole-class tracking.
Weekly Chart
One chart per student focused on specific behaviors (e.g., "Completed classwork," "Used kind words"). Each row is a behavior; each column is a day of the week.
Sticker Chart
A numbered grid of boxes. Students color in or add a sticker to each box when they earn a reward. Set the total number of boxes needed to reach a goal.
Tips for Effective Behavior Charts
Be specific with behaviors
Instead of "Be good," write "Raised hand before speaking" or "Completed morning work by 8:30." Specific, observable behaviors are easier for students to understand and achieve.
Keep goals achievable
Start with a small number of behaviors (2–3) and a short tracking period (one week). Gradually increase expectations as the student demonstrates improvement.
Use charts alongside routines
Behavior charts work best when paired with consistent classroom routines. Use the Classroom Timer to help students manage transition times that often trigger off-task behavior.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I track multiple students at once?
Yes. For the Daily chart, enter all student names one per line — each name becomes its own row in a single table, perfect for whole-class tracking. For Weekly and Sticker charts, each student gets their own chart; entering multiple names produces one chart per student, each on its own page in the PDF.
How many days can I track?
You can set 1–31 days. For monthly charts, use 20–22 school days. For a standard 5-day school week, use the Mon, Tue, Wed… day label option.
Do the charts include a parent signature line?
Not currently — but you can add "Parent Signature:" as a custom behavior row in the Weekly chart type for a daily communication tool.
